Minsk to host eSports tournament with prize pool of $100,000 in cryptocurrency

Minsk will host an eSports tournament on CS, organized by the Play2Live streaming platform, built on the distributed ledger technology, Onliner.by reports.

The competition will be held on February 24-25, featuring 8 best teams from all over the world. The prize pool will be paid in the platform tokens, Level Up Coin, equivalent to $100,000.

According to the Development Director of Epic Esports Events (tournament of the Epicenter series) Mark March3llo Averbukh, there are many questions to the tournament organizers. In particular, two more well-known competitions, the SLTV tournament and IEM Katowice will be held on the same dates. Therefore, top international teams will be involved in them.

In addition, Mr. Averbukh noted that the organizer Aleksey Burdyko (the former head of GameShow) proved to be unreliable organizer: previously he delayed the payment of prize money or didn’t pay it at all.

According to Mark Averbukh, the competition can be postponed or the organizers may disappear. He noted that such a scenario had already been used in the cryptocurrency world.
